BIO

Bruce R. Huffer, MD, QME, is an orthopedic surgeon practicing in San Jose, California. He graduated with Honors from the University of Colorado and spent his first two years of medical school at the Faculté libre de médecine de Lille in France, where he was the highest-ranking student. He then returned to the United States and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 1978. Afterwards, he was selected for the five-year orthopedic surgical residency program at St. Luke’s Hospital Center in New York from 1979-1983. He was subsequently selected for the Sports Medicine and Total Joint Reconstruction fellowship at the Orthopedic & Arthritic Hospital in Toronto, Ontario.

Dr. Huffer currently manages a private practice and performs elective orthopedic procedures at both O’Connor Hospital and San Jose Regional Medical Center. He has held the position of Chief of Surgery at three nearby hospitals. With over four decades of experience, Dr. Huffer continues to provide excellent treatment of musculo-skeletal problems to all of his patients. He manages these conditions with an emphasis on conservative care but also surgical intervention after determining with the patient that it is the best approach.
