Andrew C. Vivas, MD, FAANS, QME, is a licensed Neurosurgeon who is available for PQMEs, AMEs or Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) at several locations throughout California.

BIO

Andrew C. Vivas, MD, FAANS, QME, clinical focus is in the fields of adult and pediatric complex spine surgery, spinal oncology, revision spine surgery, and chronic low back pain. His research focus is in the area of neuromodulation for the diagnosis and treatment of chronic low back pain. He also has a special interest and expertise in the organization and execution of international health care and service oriented medical outreach. Dr. Vivas has completed both neurosurgical and orthopedic fellowships in pediatric and adult spine surgery and deformity, giving him a unique and multidisciplinary perspective in the treatment of spinal conditions.



Dr. Vivas received a Bachelor of Science degree in biophysics and biomedical engineering from the University of South Florida Honors College and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida college of Medicine with Honors concentration in health care disparities. Dr. Vivas completed an internship in neurosurgery from the University of South Florida Department of Neurosurgery, an observership in adult and pediatric spinal deformity from Columbia University Department of Orthopedic Surgery, and an enfolded fellowship in complex pediatric spinal deformity from Shriners Hospital for Children Department of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Vivas went on to complete a residency in neurosurgery, where he became chief resident at the University of South Florida Department of Neurosurgery, an enfolded fellowship in epilepsy at the University of South Florida Department of Neurosurgery and Neurology, and a fellowship in adult and pediatric comprehensive deformity at Columbia University Department of Orthopedic Surgery.



Dr. Vivas is a health sciences assistant clinical professor in clinical neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, and radiation oncology at the University of California Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery and Orthopedic Surgery. He is also an attending physician in neurosurgery at North Florida Regional Medical Center. Dr. Vivas has an extensive portfolio of publications, research papers, honors and awards, and professional memberships and activities to his credit.
